Betaine HCL, or HCL for short is a non-essential nutrient source of hydrochloric acid, a chemical found naturally in the stomach (stomach acid) that helps digest food by breaking up fats and proteins. Betaine Hcl is needed for adequate absorption of protein, calcium, vitamin B12 and iron.

Carnitine used to be labeled Vitamin Bt, the biologically active form is named L-Carnitine. Food sources of carnitine are found in red meat and dairy products, but also in several nuts, seeds, legumes, cereals, pulses, other vegetables and some fruits like bananas. While the weight loss effectiveness of L-Carnitine is still in research, it is a proven fact that it increases the energy metabolism levels and that in elderly persons L-Carnitine significantly improves the neurotransmitter functions. It also improves the bone structure and has substantial antioxidant action.
Vitamin B12 is a water-souble member of the vitamin B complex. Requirements are in the microgram range, which is lower than the milligram range of the other B vitamins. Vitamin B12 is involved in the production of red blood cells and is usually known as the anti-anemia vitamin.
